Elie
Elie started his yoga journey in 2012 with Hatha yoga practice. Several of his life events from there on led him to Ananda Yoga Center, where he’s been a student since 2014 and a teacher since 2016. Elie felt a deep connection with the place from his very first visit, he was captured by its simplicity, purity and authenticity. This inspired him to complete his teacher training with Swami Govindananda at Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham in India. He later took over the responsibility of running Ananda Yoga Center.
Elie’s classes are balanced, flows structured, instructions clear and alignments precise, a style influenced by his engineering background, methodical approach and effective yoga training. Elie caters to all levels of practitioners in his classes, focusing on proper breathing, relaxation and rejuvenation, on strengthening, stretching and balancing postures, and on keeping his classes engaging and enjoyable. |
Chinmayi-Arezu |
Arezu is a certified yoga teacher with a background in art therapy. She has also studied ayurveda and has a certificate in yoga and ayurveda lifestyle counseling. She has done her 500 hour yoga teacher training at Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham in Kerala, India, where she stayed for some time and worked as staff. She has studied and practiced both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga, Vedanta (yoga philosophy). She sees yoga as a way of life and not merely a physical practice. She teaches her students how to extend the practice of yoga into their daily lives in order to live a healthy, happy and balanced life.
Arezu has been practicing yoga with her guru Swami Govindanada since 2013 and is continuing her daily studies and practice; visiting her guru every year in India. |
ElOuise LAkshya |
Elouise (Lakshya) is a Hatha, Yin, Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher. She also shares Vedic Wisdom, Sanskrit and Chanting, and organises Yoga Retreats in beautiful places around the world. Her aim is to provide support and guidance in all aspects of yoga, bridging Eastern knowledge and the Western way of life.
Elouise has been practicing yoga since 2006, and teaching since 2010. She has dived deep into the Vedic tradition, and spent 3 years in a traditional gurukulam in South India, where she learned Vedanta, Sanskrit & Vedic chanting with her Guru, Swami Dayananda Saraswati. She originally comes from The Netherlands, but has spent her life living across the globe, including 12 years in India, soaking up all the knowledge. She has taught in Dubai between 2013-2015 at Ananda Yoga, and has moved back in 2024 to continue teaching. |
DEEPA
Deepa has been practicing Yoga since 2013. She is a certified 500 RYS Yoga Instructor from the reputed and longstanding Sivananda yogic tradition founded in the Himalayas. Her teaching style includes Sivananda Yoga, Hatha Traditional and Hatha Flow (Vinyasa).
She has been part of the corporate world for almost two decades, working in challenging and demanding positions. These experiences have inspired her to explore a balanced approach to life through consistent Yogic practices, teaching and study. Deepa’s corporate background enables her to fully understand the health issues that manifest due to work life imbalance and as a teacher she is constantly working towards alleviating these issues. |
Praveen Rana
Praveen is a certified and registered yoga teacher with over 8 years of teaching expertise. Praveen hails from the north Indian Himalayas. Growing up and studying in a traditional Ashram (Gurukul) from a young age, Praveen has always been drawn to a spiritual way of life, and a deep mind-body connection. He has dedicated himself to the practice, study and teaching of yoga in its truest form.
Praveen believes yoga should be non-competitive, rooted in mindfulness, and inclusive of all bodies, age and abilities. |
Jyotsana |
Jyotsana’s journey into yoga began in childhood, inspired by her father's devotion to this ancient practice. After the birth of her child, she rediscovered her passion for yoga, using its holistic principles to navigate personal challenges and achieve transformation in body and mind.
As a certified 500-hour Hatha Yoga instructor from Sivananda, Jyotsana specializes in prenatal and postnatal yoga, empowering mothers throughout their journeys. She also practices traditional Ayurveda and is a certified first-degree Reiki healer. Since starting her teaching career in 2021, Jyotsana has developed a unique approach that blends strength-building asanas, breathwork, and deep stretching, culminating in Yoga Nidra sessions that promote relaxation and renewal. Her classes create a nurturing environment for transformation and mindfulness. |
Lainey
Hailing from the the west coast of of Ireland, Lainey intertwines her personal journey into motherhood with a profound passion for women’s health and well-being.
Also a certified Reiki Master, Lainey infuses her classes with an additional layer of holistic care and energy healing. Her mission is to foster not just physical strength but also emotional resilience, supporting women on their unique paths to wellness. |
Ajith
Ajith Shankara, born in Kerala, India, began his yoga journey at a young age in a spiritual family. He started serious practice at 12, studying under his uncle at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashrams for four years. He later served as Director at the Madurai Sivananda Centre and completed advanced teacher training in Kerala. Ajith is a Yoga Therapist and studied Vedanta and Philosophy in Rishikesh. Teaching since 2004, he has shared his knowledge globally and moved to Canada for 5 years, offering various classes and mentoring many students. In 2015, he founded Lotus Holistic Yoga in Dubai, creating a welcoming community for yoga practitioners.
